Lil Sipi - The Musical Journey

Upcoming singer and songwritter Lil Sipi's music infuses smooth RnB vocals and harmonies into contemporary reggae, creating a unique brand of conscious music.

Born Andrew Samakayi Sipiriano, Lil Sipi is a 24 year old budding artist born and raised in Chazanga, Lusaka. Inspired by the great works of trailblazer artists like Jay Rox, the young artist admits his passion for reggae music was kindled by the revolutionary sounds of the legendary Bob Marley. Perhaps this explains the messaging in some of his songs.

Growing up as a single orphan, having lost his mother at age 3 years old, Lil Sipi affirms that life was not easy. He further asserts that even his own family was not supportive of his music career at the beginning.

As the only boy in a family of four, Lil Sipi attended Titandizane Community School and later did junior secondary education at Chazanga Basic School before advancing to Northmead Secondary School. It was at Northmead Secondary School where Lil Sipi met teachers like Mrs Kabungo and the Career Guidance Teacher, Mrs Titima, who supported his passion for music. The two teachers, after identifying his talent would ask him to use his rhyming craft during presentations to his classmates.

Lil Sipi took part in the Zilile Beatz musical competition and was one of the runner ups. The competition was for upcoming artists and saw several promising artists take part. He is among 8 young artists from the competition featured on the forthcoming Zilile Beatz compilation project being produced and sound engineered by M.Beats Entertainments Limited.

Lil Sipi is an artist to watch out for. Despite the normal challenges of financial support for young artists in Zambia, he believes that the industry is rewarding, especially to those that never give up. He looks forward to growing his fan base and impacting the lives of many young people through his gift of music.
