Patrick Mutaipi alias Pat Kayz Unstoppable, an upcoming musical genius, discovered his passion for music eight years ago and has been perfecting his craft ever since. The Livingstone born young rapper drew much of his inspiration from local artists, Macky II, Slap D, Tommy D, and Tiye P.
With the genre gaining traction in Zambia, rap music occupies an area between speech, prose, poetry, and singing. Yet this music genre is without controversy and misconceptions.
Over the years, Pat Kayz Unstoppable has improved his rhyming, flowing, and spitting skills. The young artist is aware of the general reservations some people hold over hip-hop music such as music videos with sexual imagery, violence, drugs, curse language, and objectification of women. He intends to change the narrative.
Pat Kayz Unstoppable understands his poor background, the hardships of his upbringing, and the influence that music, especially hip hop, has on young people. The influence of rap music remains strong, especially with the increase in music streaming platforms. According to a study by Kistler & Lee (2010), exposure to rap music may affect attitudes, perceptions, and self-esteem.
In 2017, the rapper moved to Mansa, where he earned a new stage name, Louder.
The 25 year old uses his music to express his political and social views and sometimes discusses his own life. As a songwriter, Pat Kayz Unstoppable also writes rap songs about fictional events meant to either entertain or educate the listeners.
The rapper recently entered into an online music competition hosted by Zilile Beatz. He won the tightly contested competition. As part of the reward, he was awarded a recording deal for a single Less Pressure which was produced by Blackout Media and is available on all streaming platform. As one of the finalist of the Zilile Beatz music competition he also gets to feature on the forthcoming Zilile Beatz Compilation Project produced by MBeats Entertainment Ltd, set for release anytime soon.
