Shezy ZM - Badboy Onnah Way

When all hope is lost, when the urge to give up is strong, when life loses meaning, when the going gets tough, 'fyalabansa', a song by Shezy ZM formerly Badbboy Shezy could be all you need to lift up your spirits. Born Shadrick Phiri, the 22 year old has a soothing and calm effect on his songs. His voice strikes an emotional tone, a resonance that is not so easily explained.

Shezy's voice sounds flexible, wide-ranging, accurate, and ageless. The lyrical content is mature, solid, and clean.

Arguably, the two greatest gifts Shezy received from his mother were, firstly, of course, the gift of life and secondly the love for music. Having a mother who is a gospel artist made it easier for Shezy to fall in love with the art.

His mother, Lanis, introduced him to music at a very young age, and from then, the young artist has been perfecting his craft. Admittedly, much as music for Shezy is partly inborn and partly a learnt skill, he has managed to control and configure his natural vocal tracts to give his voice a more pleasing sound.

Shezy, who hails from the same hometown, Kabwe as Zambian music industry heavyweights in Yo-Maps and B-Flow, understands the importance of education combined with talent. Although he has put his academic pursuit on halt momentarily, to allow for his older siblings to graduate, the young artist still has the desire to pursue further studies.

Off stage, Shezy is a shy, reserved, and introverted young man, yet on stage, Shezy feels at home.

Before the curtain call, the young artist does not suffer any stage fright, anxiety or uneasiness attack a lot of artists succumb to when they face an audience. The young artist is ready to effectively deal with the pressure that comes with the industry.

Shezy took part in an online competition organised by Zilile Beatz last year and was among the 8 runners-up that got an opportunity to feature on the soon to be release Zilile Beatz Compilation Project produced by M.Beats Entertainments Ltd.The compilation Project brings together 8 promising and talented young artists across Zambia to showcase their musical talents and skill.
