UZI AC3 - Mapping Mkushi Musically

UZI AC3 - The Mkushi Based Upcoming Artist

Understandably, the first audience to Omega Maluzi, stage name Uzi AC3's music, was his family and friends before the fan base started to grow steadily.

The 19 year old young artist was born in a remote and rural town of Mkushi in Central Zambia, known mostly for the commercial farming blocks. It is no secret that making it in the music industry is incredibly difficult, no matter where you come from. But it can be particularly challenging when young musicians don’t know anyone in the business or anything about the industry because they come from small towns. Such was a challenge that Uzi faced.

With limited access to a variety of studios and performing opportunities , Uzi has had to grow his talent in not so easy circumstances. Getting music promoted in an area with limited radio stations and music promoters can be a daunting experience, especially for an upcoming artist.

Despite the challenges, the young artist remains committed to his passion for music. He initially devoted himself to writing songs and learning how to play musical instruments such as drums and the keyboard. Uzi's first recording and studio experience was in 2018. The record opened up collaboration and partnership doors with Shezy, an equally talented young artist.

Uzi has had a choice to either pursue music professionally or succumb to the challenges and bury his dreams, but the young artist has had to pursue his dreams against all odds. He has had to forego some leisure activities and friendships to chase his dream. The daily dose of artistic inspiration has always been to one day become an international artist. The upcoming artist has been making strides to make this dream a reality in the near future.

Uzi is an inspiration to so many young people, especially those who dwell in remote parts of the country, not to give up on their craft. The young artist has been using and maximising the available studio and producers in Mkushi district to advance his musical works.

Recently, Uzi took part in a music competition hosted by Zilile Beatz, an online music promotion platform. Zilile Beatz prides itself in promoting raw talent, supporting upcoming artists, and promoting African music.

Uzi, unfortunately, did not make the winner but won an opportunity to feature on the Zilile Beatz Compilation Project with other young artists. The Zilile Beatz Compilation Project will be produced by M.Beats Entertainment Ltd. Look out for Uzi presence on this one.
